HOW ANIMAL REIKI WORKS + MM FOUNDER JACKIE'S MASTER + LINEAGE CERTIFICATES

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It was developed by Mikao Usui in March 1922 and is practiced by “laying on hands.” The word Reiki comes from Japanese kanji: “Rei” meaning spiritual wisdom and “Ki” meaning life energy. These concepts are rooted in traditional Japanese and Chinese understandings of vital energy (Ki or Chi), which animates all living things. Reiki draws from this life force, combining universal energy with spiritual consciousness to support physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Animal Reiki is a unique form of Reiki energy specifically attuned to animals. It is a gentle, non-invasive healing practice that supports the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of animals. Developed through the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), Animal Reiki uses specific placements and techniques that unify the energy with traditional Usui Reiki, allowing practitioners to channel Reiki energy tailored to animals’ needs.

Animal Reiki recognizes animals as spiritual beings with their own divine purpose, equal to that of humans. It honours the deep relationship between animals and their caregivers, built on love, mutual giving, and respect. Practitioners approach animals without judgment, never imposing their own beliefs or emotions, allowing the energy to support the animal’s highest good.

“Animals like Reiki at least as much as humans. They understand the Reiki energy. Their awareness spectrum includes energies like Reiki, so they have an innate understanding of it. They live in the awareness of Reiki. The animal Reiki energy also opens an exceptional ability to communicate and be in communion with the animals.” William Lee Rand, ICRT Animal Reiki Training I & II Manual.
